Developmental Disabilities Services
Developmental disability is defined as a disability that begins at an early age and continues indefinitely, leading to substantial handicap. Safe Haven Agency was founded and still operates in order for those clients with developmental disabilities to continue their lives as normal and as happy as possible. Safe Haven Agency provides services for clients with developmental disabilities as well as behavioral health needs. Our developmental disabilities services include:
Personal Care Services
Safe Haven Agency assists in washing, dressing, and helping with other personal needs. These services are often provided at home by a caregiver for people who are unable to manage alone. We also assist with getting out of bed, transferring from bed to wheelchair, grooming, trimming nails, shaving, using the bathroom, and taking a bath. Our caregivers also monitor blood and sugar levels as needed and provide other general services that are asked of us to ensure ultimate comfort and safety of our consumers/clients.
Skilled Nursing
We provide part-time and full-time skilled nursing. Skilled nursing care includes services and care that can be performed safely and correctly by a licensed nurse (RN or LPN).
Group Homes
We provide group home services to individuals that need 24/7 hour care.
Companionship
We provide personal in-home care and companionship for individuals with developmental disabilities, the elderly and individuals that are either injured or are recovering from injuries. We interact with our clients through conversation, and we listen and provide answers to their questions to help in the development of the individual. Your complete satisfaction is our first priority, and we are dedicated to delivering peace of mind through caring and compassionate services.
Light Housekeeping
We are responsible for maintaining the house, cleaning rooms, sanitizing various areas in the home. Most importantly, hygiene has to be maintained in the house to prevent the spread of germs and outbreak of diseases. Housekeeping duties may include the preparation of meals, laundry, and recycling.
Errands and homemaker
We are able to provide our consumers/clients with caregivers that can run just about any errand including but not limited to grocery and clothing shopping. Our caregivers can assist clients to make grocery lists according to the client's wants and needs.
Meal preparation
Given instructions on what a consumer needs to eat, our staff is able to prepare meals that meet the satisfaction of our consumer.
Medication administration
Safe Haven Agency currently has staff that are certified to give a doctor's prescribed medication to consumers.
Non-medical transportation
We provide transportation to and from the school, workshops, and various destinations in the community. Transportation is also provided to individuals in Supportive Employment seven days a week if applicable. The safety and comfort of Safe Haven Agency clients are top priorities of the caregivers. Our drivers are trained to provide service for people who need greater assistance--the elderly, the disabled, the injured and individuals in wheelchairs. We provide door-to-door transportation to health care appointments and clinical patient tests. Drivers are trained to be safety conscious for their protection and for the protection of the clients they transport.
